Yaxpedition

No doctor could explain just how,

nor would scientists agree;

Whether this intrepid pack of Yaks,

could cross to Italy.

With one a magnet for distress,

another with joints of glass.

“Only time will tell” “not a chance in hell”

That this epic quest could last.

By Yak or by car, via paddle or foot;

for sure a visit there must be.

A journey most heinous, distraught and egregious,

to a Slovenian department of A&E.

Yet down rapids they flowed, bends they did snake,

into the deepest of pools they would plunge.

A seamless ride, never breaking their stride,

nor the ever-fragile Danger Sponge.

United as one at the end of each day,

undoubtedly thrilled and relieved.

All obstacles burned; the tables now turned,

they could bask in what they had achieved.

For no matter the challenge each day they did face,

whether risk or a distance so far.

After every twist, no chance was there missed,

To ensure that we look where we are.
